DAYTON, Ohio (Nov. 15, 2019) — In the last couple of months, five members of the Woolpert Cloud Solutions team have earned eight professional cloud certifications. David Hollema, Zac Nickens, Nate Wilhelmi, Jeff Franklin and Marc Miles have earned a combined three Professional Cloud Architect, two Cloud Engineer, one Professional Cloud Developer, one Professional Cloud Network Engineer and one Professional Cloud Security Engineer certifications. Members of the team also have new and renewed Professional Collaboration Engineer and Professional Data Engineer certifications pending.
“These certifications illustrate how we’re elevating our commitment to excellence in cloud design, delivery and operational rigor,” Woolpert Cloud Director Dylan Thomas said. “There is not a nationally or globally recognized certification body for cloud professionals, but these credentials are the same in spirit as the Professional Engineer or Certified Photogrammetrist certificates our colleagues here at Woolpert are earning. They validate the same type of knowledge, ways of working and quality, and are attained through a rigorous examination process.”
Woolpert—an international architecture, engineering and geospatial firm—began its partnership with Google in 2014 and in 2018 was named Global Google Maps Partner of the Year. The firm more recently expanded into Google Cloud services and products, forming its cloud solutions team in February.
“Many of our technical staff also have certifications from other public cloud providers, such as Amazon,” Thomas said. “All of these professional certifications ensure an appropriate standard of knowledge, a professional code of conduct, and an expected quality of advice and deliverables. We’ll continue to accrue whatever knowledge will help us provide our clients with sound solutions for their cloud projects.”
