Woolpert Appraisal Technologies, formerly Data Cloud Solutions (DCS), provides a SaaS platform serving the residential and commercial real estate appraisal industry. The company set out to migrate its platform from AWS to Google Cloud to reduce operational costs and overhead while better aligning its technology environment with Google Cloud.
Migrating an established SaaS platform required careful planning to maintain business continuity throughout the transition. Woolpert Appraisal Technologies needed a phased approach that would allow AWS and Google Cloud to operate in parallel while workloads were progressively migrated, tested, and validated—all while minimizing downtime.

Working With Woolpert
Digital Innovations worked with Woolpert Appraisal Technologies to develop and execute a phased migration strategy designed to minimize downtime and reduce risk. The team established connectivity between AWS and Google Cloud, allowing both environments to operate simultaneously while workloads were migrated incrementally.
The approach also provided rollback capabilities throughout the transition and included extensive testing and code modifications to address legacy dependencies originally hardcoded to AWS.
The Solution
Woolpert Appraisal Technologies implemented a phased migration of its SaaS platform from AWS to Google Cloud, beginning with its database environment before transitioning application workloads, load balancers, and network configurations.
With its databases successfully migrated, the team is continuing to transition the remaining application infrastructure. Approximately 95% of workloads are expected to be migrated by the end of 2026, establishing a more operationally efficient cloud environment while remaining AWS resources are gradually decommissioned.
